I came across this ‘FREE’ application on iTunes titled “Dragon Dictation”.  It is a voice to text recognition application (yes, I know, insert skepticism here). I must admit, if you are wanting to save yourself some time this is worth a try and if you don’t like it, there is always delete.

I found it really easy to use;  simply download the application, go through the set up (there is privacy policy) activate your social media integration if you want to post to Facebook and or Twitter, and that’s it.

My initial test was to send a message; I opened the application, tapped the screen and said “I want to send a message to John Smith and say good morning”.   I pressed ‘done’ and the words appeared 100% correct on my screen (this may not be always the case).   You can, cut, copy, delete, highlight and change words prior to sending via SMS, email, Facebook or Twitter.  Even if you have to change one or two words, it is far quicker than typing it all word for word (at least it would be for me).  Of course, with most voice to text software, the less complicated the word the better!

If you are looking for ways to save time when messaging or drafting emails then this could be worth a look.
