Ever wondered what it takes to publish your book on Amazon? Let me share with you an approximate timeline if you do it all yourself. You can kiss away hundreds of hours of testing, researching, proofing, editing and designing. This is time you don’t have, and it can cost you thousands of dollars in both value and your time, or you can take these 5 steps.
With over 35 Kindle book projects, managed for clients, I’ve perfected the 5 step process for achieving a professional and fast-tracked process for getting your book on Kindle.
1. Proofing and editing
Once you’ve written or had your book written, the first process is to proof and edit, go through it line by line, character by character, making sure that everything flows well, that you’re consistent with terminology, branding, punctuation and grammar.
2. Layout of your book
There are 3 components to a Kindle book, front, middle and back and each section has specific pages which need to be laid out in a certain way. This ensures you have a professional looking book online.
3. Formatting and review
When publishing in Word to Kindle, you get a much cleaner looking book but there are certain rules that need to be followed. Having your book professionally formatted will make sure you book looks polished and that your content is displayed well on Kindle.
4. Cover Design
When it comes to your cover design, is less more, or is more perfect? That would depend on the type of book, your target market, your niche and what your objective is. We ask you the questions, you tell us what you want, we get it done.
If it was a simple process to proof, edit, layout, format, review, design and publish your book to Kindle, we wouldn’t be offering this great service. But it’s not, so we do. There are many steps to be considered when uploading your book to Kindle and we make them easy to climb.
